Medicine Man by Saffron A. Kent

Medicine Man

This is my third book by Ms. Kent and I love the subjects she writes about. She shows the messy but wonderful side of love in a way that leaves the reader breathless. I can’t say much about the story without spoilers.

I love pop culture references and we get them through the story, lending the reality of Simon and Willows world. Saffron creates two wonderful people you fall in love with and root for throughout the entire story. Willow is lovable and right away readers can identify with her. Let’s not forget the hot doctor too. The subject matter is deep and brings light to mental illness in way that the reader has not only sympathy but compassion for Willow. This is a must read. ~Leigh

Manik by Amo Jones

Manik by Amo Jones is a super dark book about love, life and family. Beatrice is a lost soul, losing her parents at an early age and being raised by her grandparents. When she loses what is left of her family, she is absolutely lost and moves from town to town, settling on New Orleans. And that is where she meets Manik, a very well known rapper with ties to the Russian Mob. But across the room, their eyes meet and there is a connection. Events are put in place and many things lead them together.

Things I love:
The writing is absolutely perfect and the chemistry is out of this world between Manik and Beatrice. There is a lot of suspense that keeps the readers turning the page like crazy. I couldn’t get enough. And the side characters—I loved. If you are in for a good read, that is very dark (how I love a lot my books) then this is the book for you.

Nancy Review of Over Easy

Over Easy: A Santa Lena Sizzles Novel

By: Jessa York

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After Harper walks in on her husband with her cousin her life is turned upside down.   She starts realizing how messed up everything was in her life and marriage.  After destroying his favorite game system and TV she meets her new friends Roza and Riley.  They have taken it upon themselves to help Harper start living again. And find a man with big hands.  She doesn’t count on accidentally meeting him when she gets lost at the club.  Enter Jack the owner of one restaurant and opening another.  When she finds out he is a client for her job it complicates things.

My take on this book:

This is Jessa Yorks debut novel.  I loved the book.  There is a lot of build up with the emotion that Harper goes through.  The dual POV also shows the struggle that Jack has as well.  It will make you fall for him even harder.  The antics of Roza and Riley will keep you laughing and hoping to have friends like them.  I highly recommend this book.  I can not wait for the next book.

Nancy Review of The Art of Survival part One

Art Of Survival: Part 1

By: Monique Orgeron

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Stern Family Saga has been a awesome roller coaster ride.  And behind the scene of all books there was Catherine making all the pieces fall into place.

This book we see why Catherine is the way she is.  We have caught glimpses of her past in each book but hearing her story will take you for a ride.

My take on this book:

The emotional roller coaster that Catherine takes you on is amazing.  One minute you will be close to tears and the next you will be spitting mad.  Ready to jump through the kindle.  Catherine will make you understand the ways she survived and how she became Catherine Stern.  This is a DO NOT MISS book.

Nancy review of The Nine Minutes Trilogy

The Nine Minutes Trilogy

Nine Minutes

Out of Time

Gift of Time

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the story of Ginny and Grizz.  It takes many twists and turns but is about their story.  In the 60s and ups motorcycle gangs were rampant but no one really knew much about them.  This is about the Satan’s Army and the girl that would be the queen

My take on this trilogy:

These books were recommended to me.  And I must say the person that recommended them was right.  This series had me in tears one minute and growling the next at it.  There are twists and turns that even had me saying “OMG” and my husband and kids looking at me funny.  I read so much that it does not happen often.  You will not want to put these books down.  There are 2 spin offs to the series also.  I recommend these books very highly.
